Abstract Nature Photography: About Joanna Clegg

Joanna Clegg

Joanna’s images are a celebration of nature’s colour, form and beauty. Her photography concentrates on the detail of the natural world. Her resulting images are often abstract, revealing an overlooked perspective of nature, which is as alluring as it is unusual.

Joanna’s love of nature is the overriding influence in both her photography and her life as a whole. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology, a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Protection and has spent more than 10 years running a mixed organic farm together with her husband.

Concentrating on her photography, Joanna now lives on a rugged coastal farm in the far South West of Cornwall, where she is close to a number of celebrated Cornish gardens and surrounded by meadows and heathland which provide the inspiration for her work.

In 2008 and 2010 Joanna was a Finalist and Highly Commended in the prestigious International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. In IGPOTY 2012 Joanna came 2nd  and was a finalist  www.igpoty.com.

One of Joanna’s images was part of an exhibition at the New York Botanic Gardens in January-February 2012.
